I believe in social equality across all genders, ages, abilities and races. but although books are improving on the female front not many represent different ethnicity's very well. so here are 3 books i think do justices for People of colour.
1. Ready player one.
THIS book and representation ah I love it .It has multiple strong female character, 3 different ethnic backgrounds in the main group and talks about body image. know there are many books about theses issues but the best thing is about ready player on is that the book is not about, color or class or gender its about kicking ass and being the greatest gamer who ever lived. that fact that there race or general appearance does not get in the way is how it should be, it real and how differences do not matter. Also i know i have said it before guys but read the book it amazing and super cute in places.
2. When I reach you.
This books a bit of a weird one but its short and easy to read, and in someways very thought provoking. Now although this book does contain one chapter with raciest content its still a good representation of race as up until the point where the offensive language is used we have no indication of the girls ethnicity and i like that i means people who are judgment about these thing or who base assumptions on stereotypes do not have the chance to wrongly judge her before they get to know her. which is kind of the hole i dear of the book, to not always judge something bases on what you think you know.
3. The Luna Chronicles
This one almost didn't make it to the list as the first book does play on the smart Asian stereotype however, we later see cinder becoming much more than just a amazing engineer, she buds in to here own hero and real shows how P.O.C women rock. I have not gotten round to the other books in the series but i understand they are set in different countries also such as France (scarlet) its nice to see different regional identities coming in to books raver then just having the typical american protagonist.
An odyssey of a journey, though the irreverent, the unusual and the unknown worlds of literature, television ,music and the peculiarities of life
