the book'em book club

As the very tumblr virginia wolfe quote it my room says "books are the mirrors of the soul"so i felt a good way for you to all get to know me and to get some great literature into your noggins (do people say noggins?) is to recommend you some of my favorite books it is not gonna be a top 5 becasue i can't chose between my babies.
book 1. Elizabeth is missing by Emma Healey: this book is one of the most realistic representations of  dementia i have found in modern literature so far, the book also involves a mystery that seem completely unsolvable, even one who is a master of deduction would find it hard to foresee the events that follow as Maud begins her search.
book 2. the 4.50 from paddington by Agatha Christie i am a huge Agatha christie fan i have watch all teh tv adaptations, have read most of the novels and have been a river boat tour to see her boat house. teh 4:50 paddington like many other of Christie's novel always keeps you guessing and the cover part (the harper addition) is simply beautiful (i love that orange tones in it it's so pretty)
book3. Miss Peregrines home of peculiar children by Ransom Riggs this book is a sci fi/ period/ mystery/ghostly whirlwind of a novel and i love love love it. its one of these books you can envision in your mind when reading. i have not actually reached the end yet, although and i am very close, and i already know this will become one of my all time favorites.
book4. we all knew harry potter was gonna be on here. i am a massive harry potter fan and order of the phoenix is my favorite book of all, i love the progression of harry's character and how even though he's growing up he's still so clueless plus this book has luna, fred and george and serious in  it is the only one which my four favorite characters all alive and having major roles in the plot so yay!

book5. the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adams. Adams is liek teh terry prachet of sci fi and i love him. the book is funny unique, inventive and oddly deep if you think to much about this i took this book to the beach last summer and i literally read it from when the tide when out till when it came in.

okay well thats it for now i many do another instalment of my little book club soon i hope you enjoyed it :)

Absoluaty potty: aloha! more 'arry potter

for those of you who are not aware i am a huge huge potterhead. I literally can not describe how much these books, films and the harry potter community in general  means to me (well i could but it might be hard to understand with all the crying).

as you know the book series started in 1997 and ended in 2007 (9 years ago!!!!) which was a really rough year for the harry potter fans but at least the story continued in the form of the films until 2011 (excuse me while i process how it has been 5 years!). i remember balling my eyes out in the cinema as i saw it fade to black for the last time. in 2011 i visited the harry potter studio tour in london. since then i have gone a second time and am currently planning another trip because i'm a sad sad human.

As you know there has been many spin off books from the harry potter universe that make up the hogwarts library collection but this year JK rowling is releasing the cured child book, play and fantastical beast and where to find them. and as you can imagine i am dying with excitement.

even though we may have lost alan this year the potterhead fandom is still going strong after almost 20 years!!!

this is so inspiring to mean is it show how much book can shape and change people's lives and perspectives, even in this computer centric age. Harry potter teaches children about friend ship and bravery and it teaches adults its okay to be childish. The long the story continues the more lives it can touch and i find that so beautiful.

everything has to end at some point and harry potter has ended but these spin off stories show that with every end there will ALWAYS be a new being.

get back to where you once belonged

yes that is beetles reference all the points to you for realizing

okay so i though i would do a happier-ish post to bust the mural. so this is my high lights of the year 2k15!!!

okay so lets go from may. during may i had the opportunity to go on a coach trip to Spain with some of my best friends we went in a big group and stayed in Barcelona. during our say we visited the new camp stadium, porta ventura and hit so many different beaches. allow the 26 hour coach ride there was hell on earth the hole experience was quite enjoyable and was one of the first times i had a hole week with out stressing.

another amazing experience i got to do in 2015 was my trip to the harry potter studios in London. Now i love love love love London so much and the same goes for harry potter so to be able to go back there and check out the new exhibits was amazing for me. Harry potter was so important to me as a child and it still is. i literally can not describe how magical both my trips there have been.
another second this year has been the doctor who studio tour which i took with my best friend in the hole wide world ginger snaps. it was so fun to travel with her and see her exprenec the exhibits for the first time i just made my day seen her happy and enjoying her self and i am so thankful that she has allowed me to spend these past couple of years as her friend. you'er great!!!it now says it on the internet so it must be true.

bah hum good

okay lots to talk about this time guys. I'm going to start with my main point Christmas although amazing and fun as been difficult this year. due to global warming the weather has been abnormally high, many Christmas films have been over show and local events have been canceled or have had cut backs due to the government reducing council funds.

In short this Christmas is a shaping up to be a bit of a flop. I don't know if it because have gotten older or because of the over commercialization of it all but Christmas is simply not as magical as i remember.

Now don't take this the wrong way i am not a scrooge but in sum ways i seen not being overly excited as a good thing. Christmas can be a difficult time for many people you normal get your self hipped up and after the holiday experience your self going down. Not getting overly involved in Christmas helps you to plato and keep your self in a good place.

Some people may not want to go though Christmas as they aren't close with there family's or have bad past experiences.

I suppose what i'm trying to say is if you now some ones whos not to much in to the Christmas cheer don't push them they will have there reasons.

Halloween things to boo!

first of all a moment of silents for my dignity which i have lost due to that title....

so all hallows eve us all most upon us the time for spooks, witches, ghosts and that adorable kid from number 32 in his little jack-o-lantern costume ( i know you don't know him but he is the cutest thing ever so he had to be mentioned). so here are some tips to make your Halloween amazing.

1) watch the gravity falls summerween episode. If you don't already know i am obsessed this this show, and i'm pretty sure i am just an older version of Mable.
(shes my spirit animal i swear)
so the show is set in a small town during the 6 week holidays (summer vacation) but town has its own midsummer Halloween holiday (way to squeeze a special in Disney) and basically stuff gets real. its funny, cute and not to scary so its perfect for the squeamish type.

2) pumpkin carving. yeah i know duh but you can really do something different this year for instance there is the teal pumpkin campaign that started this year to help children with allergies have a happy Halloween. (learn more about that at http://www.foodallergy.org/teal-pumpkin-project/FAQ

3) go it a Halloween fright fest
last year i when to one at the castle in Warwickshire and let me tell you i have never been more excited and scared at the same time. basically it consist of being locked in the castle after hearing a ghost story and the... well you will have to find out for your self. i really suggest finding one in your local area but remember don't go alone.
4) try your hand at some Halloween baking. here is some ideas form one of my favorite youtubers you should try.

5) tell ghost stories
there is nothing more fun than spooking your friends out,so why not give it a try. personal i love ghost stories and because i have read so many i know how to make them pretty easily but if you struggle with actually coming up with your own i recommend buying an anthology of them. on of my favorites that is not to scary so they can read them to younger children eg (10-13) is the tales from the dead of night book i got from water stones in late September. its got a lovely cover and has a lot of tales from famous authors
well that's all i hope your Halloween is magical but remember "all magic comes with a price dearie"
(please get that reference so we can be best friends)
